  • Bio: Zhiwei Feng, a computational linguist, is senior research fellow of Institute of Applied Linguistics, the Ministry of Education of China. He has a broad and solid foundation in linguistics, mathematics and computer science. He is a rare composite expert across arts and sciences. For more than 60 years, he has been engaged in interdisciplinary research in linguistics, mathematics and computer science. He is one of the earliest scholars in natural language processing and computational linguistics in China. He has published more than 30 books and more than 400 papers at home and abroad. He is the winner of NLPCC (Natural Language Processing & Chinese Computing) Distinguished Achievement Award of CCF (China Computer Federation) in 2018.


Research and Development Report on the Integrated Platform for Ancient Text Compilation and Research
  • Speaker: Jingsong Yu (Peking University, P.R. China)
  • Bio: Jingsong Yu, Ph.D., is a professor at Peking University. He obtained degrees from Zhejiang University, Peking University, and the University of Pittsburgh in the United States. Since September 2005, he has been working at the School of Software and Microelectronics, Peking University, where he was involved in the establishment of the Language Information Engineering department and has been teaching there ever since. He has worked as a programmer, project manager, and also served as a systems librarian at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2013, he taught the first batch of MOOC courses titled "Principles and Practices of Computer-Aided Translation" at Peking University. The courses were launched on platforms such as edX, Coursera, and XuetangX, attracting over 80,000 students worldwide. His primary research areas include artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and digital humanities. His research encompasses adaptive language teaching theory and practice, optical character recognition technology for ancient texts, and information processing of Classical Chinese.
